Agreement is not the price of participation. Nor is active contribution the only way to take part. Whether one speaks, questions, listens or quietly reflects, each participant becomes part of the churning.
Its purpose is not to produce a single prescribed conclusion, but to create an atmosphere of cognitive enrichment in which every participant may leave with a deeper understanding than the one with which they arrived. For when thought is churned with curiosity, respect and intellectual honesty, dialogue does more than exchange opinions: it begins to reveal meaning.
